As a result of the mergers and development of AMJ, the firm now comprises a firm of legal professionals of diverse backgrounds and legal experience. AMJ is currently the largest law firm in Oman with 34 lawyers and supporting staff and is the first fully integrated law firm able to advise clients on the full spectrum of major legal services required for both local and international clients entering into both domestic and cross-border transactions.

In addition to broad international expertise and wide-ranging international contacts, AMJ has built up over the past 27 years a formidable base of experience and knowledge of the laws, practice and court systems of the Sultanate. AMJ is committed to providing clients with timely and practical legal advice tailored to their specific requirements. This commitment to quality service has made it one of the leading firms in Oman, and for the past two years AMJ was awarded the “Best Law Firm in the Sultanate of Oman” by the prestigious Euromoney International Financial Law Review at its Middle East awards ceremony held in Dubai in September 2006 and October 2007.

AMJ enjoys good relations with the various Government departments and bodies from whom clients are required to obtain the various approvals and permits for their projects and business. Expertise in the laws and business affairs and knowledge of developments in Oman enables it to provide a unique and effective service to both local and international clients in Oman and overseas in wide ranging areas of law. Based on this AMJ has been retained by the Government of Oman as local advisors on various major projects and has acted with many of the largest international law firms on a number of privatisations and major projects. AMJ acts on behalf of a number of prominent local and international banking and corporate clients.

AMJ’s specific areas of expertise are banking, corporate and project finance, capital markets, maritime, energy, oil and gas, insurance, commercial and corporate laws of Oman, privatisations, mergers and acquisitions, real estate, labour law, litigation and arbitration, commercial agency and joint venture related matters.

AMJ prides itself in the service it provides to its clients. Each client works with one Partner or Senior Associate who has primary responsibility for the matter entrusted to the firm.
