IFN Oman Forum 2021

    AMJ partnered the Islamic Finance News in staging a successful 6th IFN Oman Forum at the Grand Millennium, Muscat on 26th October 2021. The day-long annual event attracted a record number of industry players, regulators and legal experts gathered to deliberate the future of Islamic retail banking, capital markets and takaful in Oman. The forum was attended by delegates physically as well as virtually.

GSBA Conference

    Developing a robust debt capital market to sustain long-term economic growth has been high on Oman’s policy agenda for some years. This policy is beginning to pay dividends with the value of the bonds and sukuk segment of the Muscat Securities Market (MSM) growing by 32% to OMR2.63 billion during the period 2016 to 2017.

The Oath Middle East Awards 2017

    AMJ won the inaugural ‘Oman Law Firm of the Year 2017’ award at The Oath Middle East Awards ceremony hosted by Niche Publishers at Jumeirah Beach Hotel in November 2017. The Firm also received an honourable mention in the small regional firm category. Over 300 legal professionals from the region attended the Oath Award.

Oman Business Law Forum 2017

    AMJ sponsored the first Oman Business Law Forum which was held in Muscat on November 23. Organised by LexisNexis, with the support of the Association of Corporate Counsel Middle East, the Omani British Lawyers Association and the Omani Lawyers Association, the conference brought together legal experts from private practice, in-house counsel and government representatives to discuss the latest developments in business law. AMJ delivered a presentation on legislative developments in the corporate and capital market spheres.

IFLR Awards 2017

    AMJ won two prestigious legal awards at the International Financial Law Review (IFLR) Middle East Awards at Dubai’s Burj Al Arab on October 18. AMJ won both the ‘Oman Law Firm of the Year’ for the seventh year in a row, and the ‘Domestic Deal of the Year’ award for its work on a merger between the International Petroleum Investment Company and Mubadala Development Company.

OABC Seminar 2017

    AMJ, in partnership with the Oman American Business Centre (OABC), organised a seminar on corporate law and finance for SMEs in Oman. Presented by AMJ senior associate Asad Qayyum, and entitled ‘Survive to Five: Navigating Financial and Legal Aspects for Companies in Oman’, the seminar was designed to help start-ups and companies in the early stages of development. It highlighted a number of common pitfalls faced by entrepreneurs

     
IFN Forum 2017

    AAMJ partnered the Islamic Finance News in staging a successful second Oman Forum and Dialogue at the Grand Millennium, Muscat on March 7. The day-long event gathered over 150 industry players, legal experts and stakeholders from across the Middle East, Europe and Asia in an audience with the regulators to discuss trends in Oman’s fast-growing Islamic finance industry. In the opening keynote address H.E Abdullah Salim Al-Salmi, executive president of the Capital Market Authority (CMA)

     

     
ICC YAF 2016

    AMJ organised an international arbitration conference in collaboration with the International Chamber of Commerce Young Arbitrators forum (ICC YAF) at the end of 2016. The event was attended by an audience of over 130, including expert practitioners, in-house counsel and academics from Oman, London, Paris and the UAE, together with young Omani lawyers and law students from Sultan Qaboos University (SQU).

IFLR Awards 2016

    AMJ was named ‘Oman Law Firm of the Year’ at the International Financial Law Review (IFLR) 2016 Middle East Awards held at Dubai’s Burj Al Arab on October 19. As well as the country award, AMJ was shortlisted with the GCC’s top law firms for work on a number of Oman’s landmark deals including the US$6.4 billion Liwa Plastics project financing and the Oman government’s US$680 million debut sukuk.

     
IFN forum 2016

    AMJ partnered the Islamic Finance News, a leading online industry journal, in organising the inaugural IFN Oman Seminar and Dialogue 2016 in Muscat earlier this year. The event brought together around 170 industry leaders, banks, investors, issuers, legal experts and other key stakeholders in the Islamic finance industry in Oman and the UAE to discuss the future of Islamic Finance in Oman and its role in diversifying the economy of the country.
